Cox, Freeman Osborne – age 86 of Upper Stewiacke passed away peacefully on February 28, 2024 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro with his wife by his side.
Born in Dean, he was a son of the late Wilfred “Woody” and Stella (MacKenzie) Cox.
Freeman loved the land and enjoyed working in his blueberry fields. He always liked talking to people and when he stopped to speak to you, there was a story to hear before you left. He was a kind and generous person. For over 30 years, Freeman enjoyed moose hunting in Newfoundland. He was a Newfoundlander wanna-be at heart.
He will always be loved and missed by wife, Karen (McNeil); daughters, Denice (Ross), Luanna (Paul); step-daughters, Crystal and Felicia; grandchildren, Cory, Natasha, Megan, Ashley, Ryan, Isaiah, Lucas, Brooklyn, Ella and Janie; great-grandchildren, Carter and Beauden; sisters, Freda (Doug), Marjorie, Willa (Terry); sister-in-law, Debby. He will be also missed by his huge circle of extended family and friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Norman and Mac; and brother-in-law, Ross Graham.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 16 from 1-4 pm in Upper Stewiacke Fire Hall.
Burial will be at a later date in Dean Cemetery.
