George William "Bill" Perigo

Perigo, George William “Bill” - Age 83 of Upper Musquodoboit, passed away on November 6, 2024 after a brief stay in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.

Bill proudly served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 25 years, achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After his military career, he channeled his strong work ethic into building a successful cabinet-making business from the ground up. Known for his integrity and dedication, Bill was a true craftsman and a man of his word. A lover of the great outdoors, after his retirement he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends at his camp. In his later years, he found peace in his lakeside home, caring for his yard and enjoying the tranquility of nature.

Those who knew Bill best would say he could be a bit set in his ways, with a warmth and humor beneath his sometimes no-nonsense exterior. His loyalty ran deep, and beneath that stern exterior was a man who cared deeply for his family.

Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Betty; his sons, Derrick (Krista) and Richard (Gina); and his grandchildren, Ryan, Daniel, and Jessica. He also leaves behind a niece, Audra, and nephew, Stewart.

Predeceased by his parents, George and Flora, and his sister, Cindy, Bill’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will take place at a later date.

Bill’s memory will endure in the hearts of those who loved him and in the legacy he built with his hands and his steadfast spirit.
