Miller, Joyce Harriett – Born in Carrolls Corner in 1936, she was the youngest of ten. Joyce passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on August 14, 2023, in Cedarstone, Truro.
Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Carl Miller; parents, James and Winifred Newman; sisters, Ruth Isenor, Helen Castle, Laura Castle, Fern Cole; brothers, Robert Newman, Fred Newman, and Harry Taylor.
Surviving Joyce are her siblings, June Isenor, and Glen Newman; her children, Wendy (Richard) Isenor, Robert (Patricia) Miller, Laura Miller, and Lisa (Steven) Tully; grandchildren, Nicole (James) MacDonnell, Natasha (David) Benjamin, Shannon (Valerie) Isenor, Amy (Ronnie) Trowsdale, Suzanne (Dirk) Taylor, Tyler (Miranda) Miller, Brandon Smith, Raynah Tully, Cassidy Tully, & Madison Tully; four great-grandchildren, and seven great great-grandchildren.
Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She lived in Ontario for a brief period during the beginning of her married life, before returning home to Lantz, where she remained, raising her four children with her husband, Carl. She and Carl were married for a phenomenal 69 years.
Joyce always enjoyed baking up something delicious in the kitchen, and annually made her beloved peanut butter fudge on Halloween for parents of trick-or-treaters - recognizing that people of all ages fancied a good sweet.
Joyce cherished spending time with Carl at home and on outings alike whether going for a drive together on the weekends or grabbing fish and chips or KFC on a Friday night. Joyce loved visits from her grandchildren and having family around.
She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
