Boyd, Lorena Anne – Age 48, of West Chezzetcook, passed away peacefully Aug 18, 2023 in Dartmouth General Hospital with family and friends by her side. Born in Halifax, she is survived by her parents, David and Madeline (Fillis) Boyd, West Chezzetcook; brothers, Scott, Hamilton, ON; Garth, Grande Prairie, AB; sisters, Nadine Hines (Peter), Coleen, both of West Chezzetcook; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Lolo, as she was referred to by many, will be remembered for her Halloween pumpkin people, beach walks looking for sea glass, her love of gardening and so much more. Those who knew her, knew that she was perpetually late, typically because she never showed up anywhere empty handed. Be it pillows, blankets, ponchos or snacks, no one went hungry or cold with Lolo around. A stickler for presentation, she could turn any ordinary dessert or tray (always delicious) even a flower bouquet into something extraordinary.
A generous soul to all, no one compared to Lolo when it came to brightening the life of any child fortunate enough to know her. Her incredible imagination and big heart could turn anything into an adventure, from her not so simple games of clue, trips to the beach, Easter egg hunts, spa days Lolo style, sledding in the back yard or making dandelion curls. Lolo made so many experiences magical for every child in her life, because at heart she was just a big kid herself.
Gone too soon, she will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday August 22nd 7-9 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Funeral will be Wednesday August 23rd, in St John of the Cross Church, 723 East Chezzetcook Rd at 11a.m. Burial immediately after in St Anselm’s Cemetery, 7045 Hwy 207,West Chezzetcook and a reception to follow at St Therese Community Center, 17 Conrod Rd, Grand Desert.
All are welcome to join her final tour of the shore.
