McClair, Arnold “Arnie” Walter – Age 87, of Elmsdale, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on November 26, 2023.
Born in Windsor, he was a son of Howard and Madge (Lowthers) McClair. He was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Jaunita; and oldest son, Richard.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joanne; daughter, Crystal (Tim) Maxner, Canning; son, Jeff, Rawdon; step-children, Robbie (Lisa) White, Cole Harbour; Heidi (Raymond) Beaver, Sackville; Derek (Cathy) White, Maitland; grandchildren, Savanah, Melbourne, Australia; Brittany, Toronto; Michael, Dartmouth; step-grandchildren, Devon (Kaylie), Jessica (Mack), Jamie, Jordan, Jessie (Anthony) and Ashia; cherished great-grandchild, Liam and very special cousins, Ervin and Mary Ruth Cochrane, and Marie Cox.
He loved to engage with his family and friends playing games and cards and especially enjoyed listening to Joanne sing the country music he was so fond of and knew all the words to, and to dance to that music at Nine Mile River Community Centre with the Coopers while his health permitted. He greatly enjoyed playing hockey and baseball in his younger years and then later coaching his boys in sports. He spent many wonderful years at his cottage in Bishopville, N.S. with his daughter and son-in-law.
He retired as Manager of Perfection Foods, Dartmouth after 20 plus years, a job he thoroughly enjoyed.
He was a former member of the Jaycees of Windsor, N.S. and in 1972 received the Spark Club Award in recognition of his commitment to the organization, former president of the Windsor Junction Community Center, and former member of the Dartmouth Curling Club.
Cremation has taken place.

In keeping with his wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service.
