Mitchell, Evelyn Joyce – It is with heavy hearts that the family of Evelyn Joyce Mitchell announce her unexpected passing on January 8, 2023 at the age of 84. She passed away peacefully in her home at Lake Charlotte.
Born in Clam Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Miriam (Drake) Mitchell.
After graduating from Halifax Vocational School Evelyn worked for Halifax County Administration, St. Paul’s Church before retiring from Canada Customs as Superintendent.
Evelyn enjoyed spending her time knitting, sewing, crocheting and crafting. She could often be found sitting at her sewing machine or knitting in her chair. She had a great love for her family and enjoyed visits with them. She will be forever in our hearts and greatly missed.
Evelyn is survived by sisters, Eva Webber, Catherine (Jim) Giles, Theresa Farris, Joan Potter; brother, Barry (Darlene) Mitchell; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sister, Nora in infancy; and brothers-in-law, Keith Webber, Earl Beaver, Bud Farris and David Potter.
Cremation has taken place.
Funeral services will be announced at a later date.
