Collier (Donnelly), Annie Minerva – of Halifax, passed away peacefully January 11, 2023.
Born in Halifax she was a daughter of the late Vincent A. Donnelly and Hattie B. Fogarty.
She is predeceased by her husband, David Collier; and sisters, Theresa Carlton and Joan Oxner. She is survived by her children, Anthony (Susan), Vicki Tattrie, Derek (Cheryl), and Kelly Backman (Tim); grandchildren, Jason, Emma, Valentina, Caitlyn, David and Atanda; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Claire, Owen, Vin and Sage; sister, Patsy Weeden; brother-in-law, Paul Collier; along with many nieces and nephews.
Married for 62 years, the adventures would begin.
While mom worked at various jobs, she was also a full-time mom loving us always. In her later years she was a foster parent to Trevor, devoting much time to him and enriching his life. She supported many fundraisers, events, food banks, helped with funerals, weddings, church events, all with grace and thoughtfulness.
Mom loved her summer camp in Shubie, this brought her much happiness hosting family gatherings, tea with friends, neighbors, and the church community. Sleepovers with the grandchildren were a favourite and she was always looking out for that little child who needed her love and kindness. She enjoyed taking day trips from the camp, taking along a picnic and backseat company.
Another favourite was spending time with her sisters and her many nieces and nephews, enjoying mini vacations, sleepovers, quilting, crafting and sewing occasions.
In most recent times, she loved to hear stories and see pictures of her family, especially the little ones. It always brought a smile.
For those who knew mom well, she kept true to herself and did things “her way”.
Thank you to all the staff at The Admiral LTC and at Mic Mac Court.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial mass and interment will be held in the spring.
