Kennedy, John Turner - It is with broken hearts that the family announce the passing of our beloved Dad/Poppi, John Turner Kennedy. He passed away peacefully in the garden with the sun on his face, the birds singing, and surrounded by his family on June 15, 2020, at the age of 84. The son of Harry and Ann, he lived his entire life in Pleasant Harbour.
He loved his family and beamed with pride when all his clan were together, and he believed we should always celebrate life’s events with family, good food and drink. He valued hard work and instilled this ethic in his children. He was happiest on his tractor or working in the woods.
A proud patriarch, family was his life. He has been a major presence in the lives of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed by the love of his life, Norma (wife of 63 years); his children, Fraser (Heather), Darcy( Joy), Brice (Tammy), Tara (Dave), Tony (Audrey), Sue Ann (Jeff) and Chrystal (Bruce); his grandchildren, Adam, Nastasya, Holly, Robin, Jordan, Cody, Jarad, Shelby, Delaney, Jesse, Chelsey, Jillian, Shane, Sarah, Dexter, Hillary, Brandon and Kennedy, and their significant others; and 15 great grandchildren. One of eleven, he is survived by his brothers, Duncan, Glen and Victor; and sisters, Valerie and Gwen.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. A private Family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
