Mary-Reay Freve was born in Scotland, and died February 2, 2020 in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Her career was in library science which brought her to diverse libraries in England, British Columbia, and finally as Chief Librarian of the Arts and Architecture Library at M.I.T. in Massachusetts. When she and her husband moved to Truro, she became Chief Librarian of Colchester East Hants Regional Library until her retirement.
I want to take this opportunity to thank the management and staff at Cedarstone who provided such excellent care, and helped Mary-Reay through her tribulations of old age viz. dementia, incontinence and scoliosis. Words seem inadequate to express my deep gratitude to the staff who took such good care of her. I can only say “thank you.” Dorien Freve, husband.
