George Morris Clark

Clark, George Morris Age 84 of Alton. It is with heavy hearts we announce his passing on Thursday, February 13, 2020, with his family by his side. Born in Alton, he was the son of the late Allen and Georgie (Clements) Clark.

Morris is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Pearl (Stewart); daughter, Sherry (Craig) Reynolds; grandsons, Alexander and Colin; sisters, Doris Densmore, Avis Levernois; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Betty Regimbald.

Morris operated the Irving in Alton and retired after 25 years. He started a band – The Altonators, and enjoyed playing at seniors’ homes, dances and parades. The band later became known as Morris and Friends. He played ball and was a devoted NY Yankees fan. He loved playing hockey and hung up the blades at age 80. He was also an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Morris was a member of the Good Times Seniors Club. He enjoyed spending time at the rinks watching his grandsons playing hockey, traveling with his family and spending time at Shortt’s Lake.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. Burial will be at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to SPCA or a charity of choice.
