Reynolds, Rita Maria – of Lake Echo, passed away February 10, 2020 in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born as Henrika Maria Nicola in the Netherlands, she was a daughter of John and Petronella Vandewiel. They came to Canada in 1950 and settled in Meadow Green, Antigonish.
Rita was a graduate of St. Martha’s School of Nursing in 1962.
She is survived by her husband, Aubrey; daughters, Maria Thibideau, Sharon Reid, and Bethanne Reynolds; son, Patrick; brothers; John, Peter, Joe, Albert, and Henry; sisters, Sisca, Mien, and Tia and their spouses; and 11 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Tony.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 18 at 1 p.m. in St. Genevieve Church, East Chezzetcook. Reception will follow in the Parish hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Chalice (www.chalice.ca/donate) or a charity of your choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
