Dillman, Adam Bruce – Age 54 of Milford, passed away January 16, 2020 with his family by his side after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Truro, he was the youngest son of the late Ray and Marion Dillman.
Adam is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Cheryl; son, Matthew (Lucina), Dutch Settlement; daughters, Shauna (James), Dartmouth; Rayann, Charlottetown, PEI; grandchildren, Viktoria, Raychel, Bo and Bennett; brothers, John (Gwen), Thomas (Anne), Timothy (Patti); many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by infant sister, Joanne; maternal grandparents, Robert and Muriel Wyer; paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Edith Dillman.
Adam’s love of mechanics took him through a journey of the trade for 35 amazing years, from Keneric Tractor to National Gypsum Ltd., and finally to Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal where he finally found his “thing”. Throughout his life, Adam became a beloved mentor to countless apprentices. No matter how busy he was, Adam always had time to teach and provide guidance to anyone and everyone. Never one to worry about his own needs, he was forever making sure to care for others first. He loved his trips to Gillander’s Mountain Camp in Cape Breton and spending time at Nova Sporting Clay. Adam’s delight for hockey carried him through 10 years of coaching local minor hockey teams, and you could always trust that you would find him at the rink with his son and grandson.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday from 1:30-4:30 p.m. in Milford Recreation Centre. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or Animal Rescue Coalitions.
The family would like to thank Dr. David Sheehy, Dr. McLernon, Dr. Snow, the chemotherapy team at the QEII, and the palliative care staff of Truro hospital for all the fine medical treatment Adam received.
