Karl Gisler

Dear Friends,

Please join Heather Ann with family and friends on January 25th for a Remembrance of Life Gathering, to honor the memory of Karl Gisler. A gathering to pay respects to Karl will take place January 25th, 2025, 2-4 p.m., in Springside Community Centre.

Let's come together for his Switzerland family to share stories with each other and to make a "Prost" with a sip of Blueberry/Haskap Wine.

Born in Glarus, Switzerland in 1958 to parents Magdalena Regalinda and Karl Gisler, he immediately became their adoring, spirited boy. Karl grew up with two beautiful sisters, Maria-Theresia and Bernadette through his youth in Linthal, Switzerland. During these years Karl worked hard usually with multiple jobs, either as a baker, butcher and while in the Alps making cheese plus tending to the cattle. He became the Swiss Champion in Cross Country Skiing also at this time in his life.  After graduating from school, he traveled extensively throughout Switzerland with his first owned/operated business, specializing in Concrete/Stone Contracting.  Karl was well respected and known for his high quality of work and strong work ethics. His reputation even reached Saudi Arabia where he worked for months at a time and had to overcome many challenges... this only made him stronger and a more positive thinker. On Sundays he would go out to the desert to catch scorpions for entertainment or challenged his work mates to a healthy competition of who could keep the scorpion on their arm the longest!

Karl went on to create, own and operate several other businesses in Switzerland and then here in gorgeous Nova Scotia (Upper Stewiacke, Berryhill) Canada, his second home for 15 years.

We would love to share more stories with you on January 25th. This is a casual event where we can chat with each other, share his amazing life through pictures and most importantly help his parents with the sudden loss of their son. It is Karl's Switzerland family's wishes and mine as well; to come together so his Canadian family and friends can pay their respects during this difficult time. Karl’s immediate family are unable to attend on January 25th at this time, however several family members will be in attendance for the spreading of his ashes on Berryhill in July 2025.

Karl had a true passion for nature and a sincere ability to help others. He lived every day to the fullest, was not afraid to take risk, and or challenge himself to improve his mind, body and soul. His wishes are that we all grow and work together to create a sustainable healthy lifestyle full of love, hope and unity. He will be very sadly missed to all that knew him but please hear him saying, " My friends and family, please don't be sad, I'm just going on my way..."

I hope to see you all on January 25th, 2-4 p.m. in Springside Community Centre, 7072 Eastville Road, Upper Stewiacke, Nova Scotia.

Sincerely and Respectfully with all my Love,

Heather Ann, Karl's Seelenfreund & Schatz
