Margaret Lydia (Delaney) Weatherbee

Weatherbee (Delaney), Margaret Lydia - Age 85, of Hilden. We are sad to announce the passing of our mother and grandmother, Margaret Weatherbee, on July 31, 2024.

Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Elmo and Jennie (Sharpe) Delaney.
Mom was a baker and cake decorator. She will be remembered for the many cakes she made and decorated for her daughters and grandchildren; her dozens of cookies, biscuits, cakes, pies, fudge, squares, jelly rolls and baked beans she made for family and friends along with her 1000's of bottles of preserves she made each year; jams, jellies, pickles, beets and her famous chow that she gave to many family & friends over the years.
When we were younger, Mom loved to take us for a Sunday afternoon drive looking for Mayflowers. She enjoyed tending her flower gardens. Mom looked forward to the cousins’ party at cousin Pat's.
Mom was part of the women's social committee where she helped cook many meals for youth conferences and church functions. She was also a member of the Hilden Fire Brigade Women's Auxiliary where she cooked, baked and served the firemen, functions and fundraisers at the fire hall.
Margaret is lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her friend and partner, David Ryan; daughters, Nancy (Colin) Murphy, Truro, and their children, Jennifer (David) Whitten, Jessica (Andre) Jacobs, Jeffrey (Sue); Kathy (Carl) Jobin, Lower Sackville, and their children, Joshua (Catherine), Miriam (Steve) Hall, Charles (Jess); Lori (Derek) Mostert, Shubenacadie, and their children, Hendrick, Luke (Katie), Heidi (Henry) Wall, Breanna; great-grandchildren, Leah, Christopher, Dustin, Alastair, Scarlett, River, Adelaide, Clara, Linden, Reid, Blake, Dakota; and several cousins.
Special thanks to Dr. Jad & Dr. Rowe, Palliative Care Team and VON for their care and kindness during her illness.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Colchester Christian Academy.
