Abolit, Reynold “Rennie” William – age 64, of Carrolls Corner, passed away at home in his favorite chair on March 22, 2024.
Born in Middle Musquodoboit, he was a son of Edmund “Abby” Abolit and the late Shirley “Jim” Abolit.
Rennie grew up in Elderbank and at a young age left and went to Ontario where he worked on farms. Upon returning to Nova Scotia, he worked on Dillman’s and Streatch’s farms. It was at this time he married Marianne and began their family. Always keeping with his love of farming, he later drove a truck delivering dairy supplies to the farmers, always stopping to tell them a joke. He loved a good time and just like his mother, always had the last word and never like to lose an argument. He made friends wherever he went and considered them family.
Rennie called it as he saw it whether you liked to hear it or not. He could be obnoxious by times but you could not stay offended for long.
Rennie will always be loved and missed by his daughter, Loni; he cherished his grand-animals, Hayley, Abigail, Kasey. Besides his father, he is also survived by brother, Darrell and sister, Michelle (Tim) Flemming; many brother- and sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his mother, he was predeceased by his wife, Marianne (Jodrey) and son, Billy.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
Visitation will be held on April 1 from 7-9 p.m. and service will be held April 2 at 2 p.m., both in St. Andrews United Church, Elderbank with Rev. Allan Lynk officiating.
