Horne, Robert “Bob” Miller – Age 72 of Eastern Passage, passed away unexpectedly at home on December 28, 2024.
Born in Middle Musquodoboit, he was a son of the late Harry and Hattie (Kelly) Horne.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at his cottage. He was a 34+ year employee with Metro Transit. Bob was a family man who proudly spoke of his family and his own roots. He enjoyed fishing trips to the cottage with his buddies. He loved animals, especially the pets he owned, and was sad at the recent loss of his dog, Zoey. Bob was a history buff who had knowledge of Halifax-Dartmouth which was long-forgotten by some. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed cooking and you never left his house until you were overly stuffed. He enjoyed his weekly lunch dates with Opa.
He will always be loved and missed by wife, Janet; children, Carrie (Tim), Melissa, Jeffrey, Ana (Jeff), Scarlett, Kyle; grandchildren, Jenna, Riley, Julia, Janessa, Janelle, Jaylyn, Alyse, Lily; great-grandchildren, Emerson and Paislee; sister, Debbie (Bennie); many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Sandra; brothers, Edward, Roger; and granddaughter, Liliana; daughter-in-law, Allyson Trenholm.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 25 1-4 p.m. in Eastern Passage Lions Club, 65 Horne’s Road. A private family burial will be held in spring.
Memorial donations may be made to Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation or a local SPCA.
