Peacock, Arnold Cecil - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arnold Cecil Peacock, age 93, of Parrsboro, and formerly Amherst, NS. Arnold passed away in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on Friday, November 1, 2024 after a brief illness. Born in Port Elgin, NB, Arnold was a son of the late Cecil and Rachel (Crossman) Peacock.
Arnold met the love of his life, Joyce (Curry) Peacock at a sporting event held in Amherst Arena. They had two beautiful daughters, Judy and Pamela, and were married for 42 joyful years.
Arnold, also known as Dad and Papa, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was known for his stories and his sarcastic sense of humour, always playing tricks on people and getting a good laugh out of them. He loved to spend time outdoors gardening, cutting the grass, birdwatching, hunting, and farming (especially his Champion and Grand Champion chinchillas). He enjoyed watching sports and puttering around on whatever project he could find next.
Arnold will be sadly missed by his daughters, Judy (Kevin) of Oakville, ON and Pamela (Peter) of Parrsboro, NS; grandchildren, Keri (Sean) of Cambridge, ON, Angela (Denys) of Oakville, ON, Jennifer (Ryan) of St. Catharines, ON, Nicholas, Maxwell and Oliver of Parrsboro, NS; great-granddaughter, Makayla (Jonathan) of Oakville, ON; as well as his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Pearl Curry, Dorothy Peacock, Walter & Carolyn Curry, Linda & Brian Babineau and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides his parents, Arnold was predeceased by his wife, Joyce; his brother, Kenneth; brother and sister-in-law, Orval and Nellie; and his sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Eldon Snyder.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held next summer. More details to follow.
