Maloney, Kevin James – Age 70, passed away on October 20, 2024 in Musquodoboit Valley Home for Special Care (Braeside) in Middle Musquodoboit.
Born in Gander, Newfoundland, he was a son of William “Bill” and the late Christina (Quinlan) Maloney.
Kevin will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Claire, Lantz; daughters, Robyn and Heather (Miguel), both of Grande Prairie, AB; granddaughter, Addison, who affectionally knew him as Grampy with Charlie; grandson, Jake, who loved his laugh and called him Poppy; siblings, Carmel (Greg), Olds, AB; Linda (Aidan), Gander, NL; Marilyn (Janine), Calgary, AB; Christopher (Maureen), Airdrie AB; Pegge (Kevin), Lantz; Betty, Elmsdale; and numerous nieces and nephews, who fondly knew him as Funcle (fun uncle).
Kevin retired in 2009 after a long career in ground and cargo services at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport where he made numerous friends over the years. His laugh was infectious and he loved a good pun. He always enjoyed a friendly game of darts or a worthy opponent to play crib with.
Our sincerest gratitude to the staff at Braeside who gave Kevin a safe, happy and dignified home. He loved you all very much.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
At his request there will be no funeral service. All are welcome to join us for a celebration of Kevin’s life on November 10, 2024 from 2 – 4 p.m. in Enfield Legion, Enfield.
