Johnson, Ray Hector – passed away at home on October 22, 2024 at age 86.
Born in Newton Mills, he was a son of the late Gladys (Johnson) Creelman.
Ray is survived by his wife, Margaret (Power) Johnson; son, Ron (Vera), Stewiacke; daughters, Cheryl (Hugh) MacKay, Eastville; Dawn (Phil) Denton, Truro; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; brother, George (Diane) Creelman, Hilden; sisters-in-law, Ruth (Stuart) Johnson, Ontario; Betty Creelman, Newton Mills; and brother-in-law, Dryden Power, BC.
Besides his mother, he was predeceased by son, Randy Johnson; sister, Ruth Cox and brother, Jackie Creelman.
Ray worked at construction and was a bulldozer operator. He was a 50+ year member of the Upper Stewiacke Volunteer Fire Department. You could see Ray on any day having coffee at the diner with his friend, Darryl. Ray enjoyed visiting friends and family and he especially liked when the grandkids came to visit.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 27, from 1-3 p.m. in Upper Stewiacke Fire Hall followed by a private family burial.
