Laybolt, Milton Robert – Age 74, of Head of Jeddore, passed away peacefully in Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital with his family by his side after a courageous battle against cancer on December 31, 2023.
Milton was born to Robert and Alice (Foley) Laybolt. He was a lifetime member at Station 26 Oyster Pond Volunteer Fire Department with over 30 years of active service and had held the positions of Chief and Deputy Chief for many years. As told, he was the one of the best pump truck operators around and Quality Concrete was lucky to have him.
He always enjoyed a good game of Gotcha and poker on the weekends or going for ATV runs with friends that were more like family. He was known for his cookies and fish cakes that he enjoyed making for others.
Spending time with his grandchildren, Carter, Caelyn, Aynslie and Reid gave him the most enjoyment in life. They would put a smile on his face whenever they were around and they kept him fighting for every extra day.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lorna (Stevens); daughter, Amanda; son, Cory; brothers, Wilson (Donna), Ivan, Earl (Christina); sisters, Catherine Gordon and Bonita (Melvin) Day; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Brian Gordon and sister-in-law, Judith.
We would like to send a special thank you to Dr. R. Rendon and Dr. W. Morzycki and their staff for their continuing support throughout his battle.
A special thank you to the staff at Twin Oaks for their kindness and compassion shown during this difficult time.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, January 6th in Chezzetcook Fire Hall at 2 pm. Burial at a later date.
Cremation has taken place.
