Jean Peckford

Peckford, Jean – Jean would like to let everyone know that on September 25, 2023, she joyfully accepted a new assignment that was too good to pass up. This promotion comes with a new home and fantastic benefits, such as reunions with long lost family members, including her mom, Eileen; her dad, Bill; her brother, Jack; her sister-in-law, Ann; and her life-long “partner in crime”, her Aunt Eileen.  A sign-on bonus of seeing old friends and getting to cuddle long-missed puppies is also included. She is looking forward to walking the beaches, tending flower gardens, being without pain, and basking in the light and love of the God she loves so much.

Jean had a very active life enjoying swimming, cross country skiing, camping, gardening, visiting with friends, and she loved spending time outdoors. She was active with several animal rescue groups, 537 Air Cadet Squadron, Brownies, Guides, and volunteered at several nursing homes over the years. She also cherished the time she spent in her church.

Jean’s greatest love in her life was her family. She lived to make life full of love and fun for her daughters, and later for their many friends who became her “adopted children”. Whether making blanket tents, camping, cooking over a campfire, or holding special event parties, Jean gave her all to those she loved.

Left to celebrate her life are her husband, Bill Peckford “Boot”; her daughters, Amy Murray and Tiffany Percey; and her much loved family: The Murray Clan - Tony, Shawn, Raymond, Thomas, Emily, Sadie, and Angus; The Percey Clan - Chris, Denison, and Kenna; siblings, Ken Raymond, and Brenda Geange; in-laws, Loraine and Hubert Rowe, Pamela Peckford, Karen and Brian Mills, Joanne and Brian Davidson, Arthur and Lynn Peckford, as well as a great many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jean’s family will be getting together to remember her life on September 26, 2023 in the Elmsdale Fire Hall from 5 to 8 pm. All are welcome to pop in for a sociable, a snack, and a chat.

No flowers by request.  Instead, donations may be made to the SPCA or food bank of your choice.
