Withrow (White), Mazie Eliza – Age 86, of Elmsdale, passed away suddenly on May 21, 2023 in Wynn Park Villa, Truro, after a lengthy battle with dementia.
Born in Noel Road, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Dorcas (McCullough) White.
Mazie was a dedicated housewife and mother to her husband and four children. Mazie could often be seen walking which was a great passion for her. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, whiz words, her outside plants and attending softball games with her husband, Bob. Later in life, she took up bowling and it became one of her favorite pastimes.
Mazie will be missed by her daughter, Lisa (Rob) Stone; sons, Jay, Todd and Tracy. She was a very special “Mama” and “Grammy” to Connor and Aiden.
She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Bob; sister, Etta Spence; brothers, Henry “Parnell”, Waynie, Wesley, Ray; and several nephews.
A graveside service will be held in Sandy Hill Cemetery, Belnan, at 11 a.m. on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or Huntington’s Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
