Sarah Elizabeth (Horne) Corrigan

Corrigan (Horne), Sarah Elizabeth – It is with great sadness we share the passing of our beloved Sarah Elizabeth (Horne) Corrigan, age 35, who passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2023 in QEII, Infirmary Site from meningitis.

She is remembered by her best friend and loving husband, Scott Corrigan; and their two precious children, Ben and Emily. She will be tremendously missed by her parents, Stephen and Suzanne Horne; brothers, Brandon (Nikita) Horne and Clayton Horne; her nephew, Jensen Horne and niece, Jolie Potter; and extended family, Stephanie Beach and Siobhan (Ray) Allen and their son, Blayze.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, Clifford and Loretta Isenor and Neil and Liz Horne.

Sarah was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured and took great pride in Ben and Emily and embraced every moment with them. Her family was her whole life. She loved the fun adventures they had camping and travelling and just hanging out.

She was a very down to earth person who had a big heart and a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She really enjoyed spending time with her friends.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the ICU team on the 5th floor of QEII and the donor team for their particular care and compassion. Also, thanks to Eva for helping to navigate grief with the children, and Fabian Francis, a spiritual advisor who did a Mi’kmaq ceremonial blessing and prayed with her family at her bedside to help Sarah on her spiritual journey home.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Elmsdale Legion, 850 Trunk 2, Elmsdale on Thursday, March 2 from 6-9 p.m.

Donations in memory of Sarah may be made to the QEII Health Sciences Centre Foundation acknowledging the good care Sarah received and helping her realize her wish of being an organ donor. Donations may also be made to an animal shelter of your choosing recognizing Sarah’s love and connection to animals.
