Born in Halifax, to the late Gerald and Margaret Conrod, Katherine’s formative years were spent in Musquodoboit Harbour where she attended grade school prior to the family moving to Dartmouth where she attended Dartmouth High and then on to secretarial school in Halifax.

Katherine married Joseph Collier in 1979 and together enjoyed all life had to offer.  They travelled extensively throughout North America, the Caribbean and Europe always bringing back interesting and quirky tales to share with family and friends.  Her favourite place to travel was the Maritimes. She was always on the go exploring beaches, backcountry fishing, accompanying Joey in his 4x4 on prospecting trips and enjoying time on their boat or camping with their large circle of friends.

Family was very important to Katherine and she set an example of how to live life, she was vibrant with a wild sense of humor, full of adventure and left a legacy of exciting and vivid memories for all who had the pleasure to have her as part of their life.  For her family she was a pillar of strength, a fierce protector, an avid cheerleader, a wise advisor and a lively party planner.
