MacPhee, Elizabeth Christine – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Elizabeth Christine MacPhee in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro on December 9, 2022 at the age of 79.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Rose (Cameron) MacPhee. She grew up in Cameron’s Settlement, and also lived in Antigonish for a number of years before moving to Stewiacke.
She had various jobs, ending with Elmwood Manor in Stewiacke. She was a beautiful baker and liked to knit and do Sudoku and crossword puzzles. She got enjoyment from simple things like watching the birds and deer. Elizabeth was known to speak her mind, and had a wonderful sense of humour right up until the end.
She is survived by her children, David MacIntosh, Truro; Ceril Fleet, Port Dufferin; Robert MacPhee (Tammy), Trenton; Dawn (Pat) Breton, Gateneau, QC; Sandy MacPhee (Kim Penney), Dartmouth; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, James MacIntosh, New Glasgow and her furbaby, Piper who brought her such joy in the last year.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her partner of 33 years, Geoff Crowe; daughter, Brenda Fleet; and brother, Ernest MacIntosh.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the wonderful care that Elizabeth was shown by the nurses on the palliative care unit, as well as VON for their home visits, and by her special friend, Brenda Spinney, who without her care, Elizabeth wouldn’t have been able to remain in the home she loved.
Burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Stewiacke East.
Donations in Elizabeth’s name may be made to your local SPCA.
