Ruby Maud (Brown, McCabe) MacKay

MacKay (Brown, McCabe), Ruby Maud – Age 80 of Truro, passed away on September 21, 2020.

Born in The Forties Settlement, Lunenburg Co., she was a daughter of the late George Gilbert and Lillian Josephine (Jones) Brown.

She was a former employee of the Nova Scotia Agricultural College for 32 years and was a charter member of the Salmon River Fire Brigade Auxiliary.

Ruby is survived by her husband, H. Douglas MacKay; her son, Kelly Blaine McCabe, Chilliwack, B.C.; sister, Juanita (Carl) Bezanson, Port Williams; nieces, Shawna Brown, Calgary; Shelley (Dean) Corkum, Canning; grandniece, Hannah Corkum; grandnephew, Joe Corkum.

Beside her parents, Ruby was predeceased by her first husband, Everett “Lynn” McCabe (1971); son, Christopher Stephen McCabe (2020); brother, George G. Brown (2009); sister-in-law, Patricia A. Brown (2011).

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.

There will be no visitation. A private graveside service will be held in Watson Cemetery, Salmon River.

Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
