Ronald "Ron" Arthur Marks

Marks, Ronald “Ron” Arthur – On Wednesday, July 15, 2020 in the early morning Ron passed peacefully holding Rhonda’s hand at the age of 62.  He was a loving husband, father of two and grandfather of four. Born, raised and living in Ship Harbour, Ron started his career as a machinist at Purdy Brothers, moving to the Nova Scotia Research Foundation and then creating a successful business, Techtronic’s Machine Works, which he sold in 2015.  Ron cared deeply for his staff and clients; he appreciated working with such talented people and never forgot their contribution to his success. Ron was happiest spending time with his family and extended family, one on one, or at the cottage, on the boat, hunting, fishing or having a good meal together.  He loved to share his knowledge and skills with his family and his generosity and love knew no bounds.  Summer vacations, holidays and time spent with the family were always interesting and everyone has a funny “Ron Story” to tell because he always filled a room with a personality bigger than life that showed his true self to those he loved. In later years travelling abroad with brother-in-law, Mark and his wife, Janet, Ron was exuberant and immersed himself in the culture of the countries and came home to tell his Mom and Dad everything he had seen. Ron’s legacy, as he often told Rhonda, is his family; his love for son, David and daughter, Chrissie cannot be measured and will never cease.  Ron was predeceased by his mother, Eva and brother-in-law, Wayne Faulkner. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years and forever teammate, Rhonda; father, Douglas; son, David and daughter-in-law, Charnell; grandson, Duncan and granddaughter, Darcie; daughter, Chrissie and son-in-law, Eddie Power; grandson, Max and soon to arrive grandson, Theo. Ron and his siblings were very close throughout their lives and he loved his sisters, Linda Marks (Peter Hennigar), Cathy Faulkner, Myretta Farrell (John D); and brother, Frank Marks (Karen). Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great nephews on the Marks side, Elspeth and Jake (Everette); Hollie and Ryan (Mauve and Myla); Jeff and Robyn (Cleo and Nolan); J. D. (Maria) and Keaton and MacKenzie.  Ron loved his brother-in-law, Mark and sister-in-law, Janet Forsyth deeply and their daughters, Sara, Samantha (Cory), Jillian (Dima) and Hannah (Alex).  Ron loved his Aunt Elva (nee Marks) and Uncle Bob Crowder and special cousins, Mike Trask (Kitty), Pam Dickson (Dann), Darlene Trask; Mark Stevens (Cindi), Doreen Sandford (Scott) and the Spanish Ship Bay cousins, Allen and Mary Nauffts, Troy and Alicia, Eric and Connie Nauffts, Wayne and Cheryl Bowen, Patsy and Kelly Breen and Ronnie Bowen (Shirley deceased). The Marks dinner table has been blessed by unofficial but dearly loved family member Alex Teeft.  The family would like to thank Ron’s care team over the past two years, Dr. S.
