Laybolt, Linda Ruth (Kidson) – It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Linda Ruth Laybolt at the age of 68. Mom passed away peacefully at home in Scotsburn on June 17, 2020 with family by her side. Linda was born in Musquodoboit Harbour to Clara (McCurdy) Kidson and the late James Kidson.
She will be greatly missed by those she leaves behind. She was the love of his life, her husband of 44 years, Garry; her children, Brad (Lesli), Stephen (Kristen), Sherri (Chris) and Daniel (Trish); her grandchildren, Tyler, Matthew, Ashleigh, Victoria and Owen. She also leaves behind her brothers, Jim (Lynda), John (Heather), Paul (Krista); sisters, Anita (Barry), Diana (Eddie) and Olga.
For many years she enjoyed working with her husband Garry creating beautiful pieces of wooden artwork that can be found throughout the province and beyond. Linda enjoyed fishing with her husband and youngest son. She was their guide on many of these fishing trips and will continue being their guide. Linda also enjoyed travelling, exploring new places, and looking for moose on the Cape Breton Highlands. She had a passion and a green thumb with her garden and many flowers. It was also a treat to sample her wonderful baked goods.
Her family wishes to thank the staff in Aberdeen Hospital in New Glasgow, the many dedicated nurses and home support workers for all her care during her brief battle with cancer.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. A private family Celebration of Life will be held in Lake Charlotte Union Church Cemetery, Rev. Joan Griffin officiating. Donations may be made to Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
