Hopkins, Vera Noreen “Sis” – It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Vera Noreen Hopkins, age 71, in Halifax Infirmary, QEII, on May 13, 2020. Vera was born in Halifax, a daughter of the late John and Iona Jennex.
She lived most of her life in East Jeddore with her loving husband of over 50 years, Everett. She was a loving mother of Wayne (Lisa), Doug (partner Julie) and Angela. Her greatest love was her grandchildren, Matthew, Evan, Tamara, Lexi, Trey and James. Vera is also survived by her sister, Heather Baker (Gary); brother-in-law, Mansfield Hopkins; sister in-law, Roberta Dickison, who was her “special wine sister”; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Vera will be fondly remembered as a strong caring woman “sassy pants” who touched many lives. At age 65, she retired from Northwood Homecare. She loved the clients she cared for, always putting others before herself.
As per her wishes there will be no service and burial will be at a later date. Friends and family may celebrate Vera’s life with a donation to Heart and Stroke Foundation.
