Greenfield (Suffield), Gloria Patricia “Pat” – Age 93 of Middle Musquodoboit. We are saddened to announce that Pat passed away on December 23, 2019, but thankful that she did so peacefully.

Pat was predeceased by her loving husband, Stanley; her daughter, Eve Lynda Cheryl; and sister, Anita. She is survived by her dear friends, Barb Bell and Sandi MacLachlan of Middle Musquodoboit; and her little Scottie, Clyde.

Born in Streatham, London, England, Pat entered the British Air Force (WAAF) following the Second World War where she reached the rank of Senior NCO, and she also worked as a military police officer. Pat married Stan in London and in 1950, their daughter was born. The family emigrated to Canada circa 1963 and they settled outside Calgary. There Pat worked as an executive secretary, but her love was raising prize-winning Arabian horses and Great Dane dogs on their sizable property.

After moving to Nova Scotia, Pat owned German Shepherd dogs. She was a skilled computer programmer and established a website for canine breeders. Pat had a lovely smile, a feisty, independent nature and an interest in helping others. A devoted volunteer, many will remember Pat as manager of the Musquodoboit Valley Food Bank which she ran for over 20 years. Pat was also a long-serving member of the Musquodoboit Valley Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

We extend sincere thanks to the nursing staff and clerks, Dr. Giffin and Dr. Warren for the wonderful kindness and care provided to Pat during her time at MVMH.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, in the Enterprisers’ Hall, 12248 Hwy. 224, Middle Musquodoboit. Donations may be made to the Musquodoboit Valley Food Bank, Musquodoboit Valley Health Foundation – Hospital, SPCA or a local charity of your choice.
