Campbell, Ronald Nicholson – With broken hearts, we announce the sudden death of Ronald Nicholson Campbell, age 67, on November 1, 2016, with his wife by his side. Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late Ross MacVicar and Isabel Florence (Nicholson) Campbell.
Ron was employed for many years at Homburg International and most recently at Inland Technologies at Halifax Stanfield Airport.
He is survived by his wife, Clara (Moore); son, Louis “Stephen” Campbell; chosen daughter, Shawna Melissa Anne (David Myers); stepdaughter, Lisa Ashley (Trevor); brother, Alexander Neil “Sandy” (Jenna); step grandchildren, Jessie (Kat) and Alicia Ashley, Jonathan Christopher Nicholson Howe; the joy of his life, his grandson, Shelton Myers; great-granddaughter, Olivia; nephews, Justin and Jared; numerous step nieces and nephews; aunt, Lois MacIntosh; sister-in-law, Eleanor Gallant; and mother of Stephen, Annette Jewell. He was predeceased by brothers, William Calder Campbell, Ross Scott Campbell; stepson, Sheldon Duane Ashley.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Monday at 2 p.m., in St. Paul’s United Church, 117 Lake Egmont Rd., Antrim, Rev. Dr. Linda Yates officiating. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia, or a charity of choice.
