Smith, Freda Mae – Age 65, of Truro Heights passed away October 22, 2021 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Florence (Creasine) Bonvie. Freda was a dedicated hard worker. She loved her family, friends and having company around. Always in for a laugh, she enjoyed playing jokes and being a prankster. She loved to travel wherever and re-connecting with childhood friends. Her final words were that she had no regrets and if she could do it all over again, she’d do it the same. Her whole world revolved around her son, Jason and grandson, Jake. Never a day went by without conversations or visiting.
Freda is survived by her only son, Jason Smith (Jessica); and her everything grandson, Jake (Aaron); sisters, Margaret Kirk, Nellie (George) Brennan, Lottie Murray, Mabel (Ricky) Cameron, Hilda (Donnie) McNeil, Helen Bonvie; long-time friend, Bill Delaney; brother-in-law, Alan Harnish; her little dog, Willow; and many nieces and nephews who loved being teased and having fun with Aunt Freda.
She was predeceased by her sister, Doris Harnish; brother-in-law, Del Murray.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 6 at Freda’s home from 2 – 8 p.m. Much appreciation to the staff of Arimathea for the wonderful care and support given to us at this difficult time. Without their guidance, this would have been a much harder time.
