Teresa Rosalind March

March, Teresa Rosalind –Age 80, of Stewiacke Road, West St. Andrews, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 24th, 2021, at home with her beloved family where she wanted to be. She was with people she recognized and loved. She was the daughter of the late Evelena Rose (Hayden) Rines and Charles Ross Rines.

People who knew and loved Teresa enjoyed her for her amazing, considerate, and giving personality. She gave of herself to the extent she would gladly go without if she thought she was making a difference in someone else’s life. Her personal success came from helping to make someone else’s happiness and success, and she never expected anything in return except love and respect. Those two gifts we gave her in abundance along with patience, honesty, sincerity, and a sense of self-worth, which she soaked up like a sponge. My mother had a sense of humor that was rare. She shined for the time she was with us. She was so excited to have such a spacious bedroom, and a queen sized bed she practically got lost in! She constantly reported to us that this was “her bedroom and her bed!” We were so privileged to make our home her home. It did not take much to keep her happy. To know her was to love her, and we did. She was overwhelmed with company in such a wonderful way. Each person that came to visit Teresa brought her such joy. Donald and I always memorialized all her visits with pictures and video so she could watch again and again. Donald and I are so sad that we did not have more time with her, but we are confident we shall see her again! We have the confidence and the honor of knowing we made the best memories and life for my dear mother while she was with us both.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Rose Diane Cates (Donald), of West St. Andrews, Stewiacke, and Darlene Evelyn Ruth Shipley (Daryl), of Onslow Mt. Road, Truro;  along with her beloved grandchildren, Joby (Christa), Pepper (Brian), and Joseph (Kenda); her beloved sister, Shirley Smith, Truro; and her beloved twin brother, Tracey Rines, Belmont;  her great- grandchildren; as well as great-great-grandchildren; along with several wonderful nieces and nephews. One niece in particular, Marion Currie (Greg), Masstown, gave her a very special gift when she brought mom’s twin brother, Tracey, from Belmont, who is also in Palliative Care, to her home, in West St. Andrews, Stewiacke, to visit Mom. Truly a heart-warming compassionate experience. One that has been forever carved in our memory!

Besides her parents, Teresa was predeceased by her dear infant son, Donald Samuel; her beloved husband, Henry Arthur March; brothers, Leslie, Peter, Charles, and Kenneth; sisters, Gloria, Doreen, Elsie, and Gertrude.

Cremation has taken place under the care of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.

Services will be held virtually on Zoom on November 6 at 2 p.m. so family and friends from all over Canada can attend if they wish to from the comfort of their own homes.
