MacKay, Harry “Douglas” – of Truro, passed away on March 18, 2025 at the age of 79.
Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Donald Robert MacKay and Helen Kathleen (Cooper) MacKay.
He was a former employee of the Town of Truro for 24 years and D & D Shell.
Douglas is survived by stepson, Kelly Blaine McCabe, Chilliwack, BC; brother, Hugh (Cheryl) MacKay, Eastville; sister, Lorna Johnson, Newton Mills; sister-in-law, Lorraine MacKay; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Douglas was predeceased by his wife, Ruby Maud (Brown)(McCabe); stepson, Christopher Stephen McCabe and brother, Leslie MacKay.
Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative.
Cremation has taken place.
A graveside service will be held at a later date in Watson Cemetery, 1997 East Prince Street, Truro.
