Snyder, Yvonne Elizabeth – age 87, passed away peacefully in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro on May 3, 2024.
Born in Sheet Harbour, she was a daughter of the late William and Kathleen (Kenney) Peach.
She married her first late husband, Clyde Russell and had three children. Yvonne was a beautiful painter who enjoyed painting from a young age. Yvonne loved gifting her work to family and friends. Some of her paintings are all over the world. Yvonne spent the last years of her life living in Enfield, first with her late husband, Carl Snyder and then with her late husband, Joseph Gignac. She enjoyed her neighbours and friends who made her feel so loved especially her very special friend, Phyllis Clinch, who was there for her every day. She enjoyed her travels across Canada and the US and all the people she got to meet.
She will be greatly missed by her children, David Russell, Alvaretta Russell (Philip Westhaver) and Karen Murphy (Danny); grandchildren, Darren Murphy, Danielle Hawes (Christopher), Michael Gray (Shania) and Mitchell Gray (Kristine); great-grandchildren, Riley Gray, Annabelle Gray, Logan Gray, Sophie Gray, Lochlan Hawes, Maeve Hawes, Avalynn Hawes and her newest, Lainey Gray; sister, Joan Gignac and brothers, Billy (Millie) Peach and Timothy (Shirley) Peach.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be at a later date when all family can be present.
Donations in her memory may be made to St. James United Church, Sheet Harbour or St. James United Church, Lochaber Mines.
