Fisher, Betty Marie – Age 83 of Upper Musquodoboit, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2024 at the home of her daughter with whom she had been living in Central Onslow, surrounded by her children.
Born in Sheet Harbour Passage, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Annie (Dahr) Harnish.
Betty loved country music, especially Johnny Cash, Wilf Carter and Charley Pride. She was an avid knitter and gardener. She enjoyed fishing, search word puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and going to the dances in Nine Mile River. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She will always be loved and missed by daughters, Darlene, Janet (Darren), Jane; son, Richard (Sandy); 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sisters, Elsie, Sharon (Max); brother, Gerald; many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Phillip (Ruth); and sister-in-law, Jessie.
She was predeceased by her husband, Byron; 3 sons in infancy; sisters, Eileen, Bernice; brothers, Clarence, Lawrence, Carl; sisters-in-law, Patsy, Donna, Yvonne, Elsie, Anna, and Serena.
Visitation will be held Thursday, 6-8 p.m. and funeral service will be Friday at 2 p.m., both in Sharon Presbyterian Church, Dean with Rev. David LeBlanc officiating.
Family flowers only. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Upper Musquodoboit.
