Wendy Lorraine Cleveland

Cleveland, Wendy Lorraine – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. Wendy Lorraine Cleveland of Mount Uniacke passed away on September 10, 2023 in QEII Infirmary Site, Halifax.  She was surrounded by family and will be so dearly missed by her husband, Wayne Cleveland; her children, Jason (Natasha) and Nancy Cleveland; grandchildren, Brandon, Kaitlyn, Hunter, Damon, Anika; and her many nieces and nephews. She was lucky to have with her at her difficult time her brothers and sisters, Marilyn Hunt, Donna Hunt, David Hunt, Gary Hunt. She was also fortunate enough to have her father, Wyman Hunt by her side.

Wendy was predeceased by her mother, Isabel Hunt; brothers, Wayne Hunt, Jim Hunt, Bobby Hunt and Michael Irving whom she missed dearly throughout her life.

Wendy was from Mount Uniacke and years ago you would have seen her either at a baseball field or a hockey rink always watching her son, Jason. You could always find her texting funny messages back and forth with her daughter, Nancy. She had a funny side and could make people laugh. Wendy loved shopping and you always saw her granddaughter, Kaitlyn tagging along as they did their shopping sprees and her grandson, Brandon was always there to drive them.

She spent over 50 years with her husband, Wayne and she loved every minute of antagonizing him.

She had very close relationships with her brothers and sisters and she loved them dearly. Wendy loved her family, and they were the center of her life. She was a loving and strong woman, even in the face of life’s adversities.  She managed to overcome so many obstacles in her life.

Her belief in an afterlife was strong and even though it pained her immensely to leave us, she knew her spirit would continue with God. She promised we all we see a sign of her.

As a family we will miss her so very much. She was the light of all of our lives. Life will never be the same. She always had her wings now God will teach her to fly. Rest in Peace. May god be with you. We love you.
In keeping with Wendy’s wishes she will be cremated on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. There will be no funeral service. We will be having a family service only as per Wendy’s request.

Cremation and arrangements have been entrusted to Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.

A special thanks to the Uniacke Fire Department for their quick response and to Jodeci Hunt and Angela Hunt for their expertise in nursing. Thanks to all of you who allowed us to have a little more time with her.
