Rogers, Elizabeth “Betty” Ruth – Age 92, of Crossroads passed away February 11, 2023 in Debert Court surrounded by her family.
Born in Waltham, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Elizabeth (Faulkner) Graham.
Betty enjoyed dancing, old time music, particularly the fiddle, loved going out to plays and concerts. She enjoyed travelling in later years, especially trips to Arizona, Cuba, Alberta and British Columbia. Her home was where the family all gathered. She loved gardening, doing yard work and was a member of the Stewiacke Valley Garden Club. Betty always enjoyed people and was a member of the Stewiacke Valley Museum, and a member of the UCW of Springside United Church. Many hours of companionship were spent with her kitty, Lucy.
She will always be loved and missed by daughters, Donna (Larry), Rosalie (Marvin); grandchildren, Shane (Cara), Bradley (Kate), Garth (Natasha), Josh, Melissa (Ryan); great-grandchildren, Tristan, Rhyleigh, Ethan, Carson, Avery, Ailish, Roger; brothers, Jack, Raymond (Lois); several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard; sister, Margaret in infancy; brother, Ralph (Phyllis); sister-in-law, Peggy.
Cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Betty’s Life will take place at a later date. A private family burial will be held in Eastville Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Carma Cat Rescue or Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
The family wish to thank the VON team and Betty’s private care providers for helping her stay in her home for as long as she did. Special thanks to the staff of Debert Court for the amazing care and love Betty received.
