Ramsey, Robert “Bob” – Age 79, of West Saint Andrews, unexpectedly passed away peacefully in his home on December 3, 2023 with his family near his side.
Born in West Saint Andrews, he was a son of late Norma (Hamilton) and Russell “Bud” Ramsey.
Bob worked for Coastal Fuels as a truck driver for 30 plus years. If he wasn’t on the road, he was at the fire department where he served as a volunteer firefighter. He spent all of his spare time back at the camp with Anne and the boys, getting winter wood ready and drinking rum. Later on, Bob made many road trips watching Justin play hockey. Bob always had a passion for horses. Later in his life, he got to continue to share this passion with his grandsons, Travis and Ryan, and great-granddaughter, Abbie, leaving special memories and lessons behind.
The door to his garage was a revolving one. Everyone was welcome and when you popped in, he’d be in his chair watching the ball game or a sappy western. He was so many peoples constant and he will be dearly missed.
Bob was predeceased by the love of his life, Anne (Metlin); sister, Velma Hines.
He is survived by his son, Chad (Monique); twin daughters, Sonia (Ricky), Sherry; sisters, Elva Hill and Leah Ramsey; grandchildren, Whitney, Justin (Carley), Travis, Ryan (Emily); and his beloved, great grandchildren, Abbie, Halle, Annie; step great-grandchildren, Bradley, Emma and Cohen; and many of his bonus grandchildren, and loved ones.
A Celebration of life will be held in West Saint Andrews Community Hall on Sunday, December 17, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
