Gierej, Tadeusz “Ted” – Age 75, of Halifax and formerly of Poland, passed away January 3, 2023.
Ted was a Seaman for 30 years with Department of Fisheries. In the 1970’s, he escaped Poland by jumping a Polish fishing vessel in Halifax with a few other crew members. He lived in Montreal, British Columbia and Manitoba before returning to Halifax in the 1980’s.
He is survived by brother, Richard (Elizabeth); two nephews and their families in Poland.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, at 10 a.m., in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 6476 Bayers Road, Halifax.
Burial will be in Poland at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
