Burke, Michael Gary – Age 70, of Middle Musquodoboit passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on July 30, 2022.
Michael was a son of the late Ernest and Josephine Burke.
Before retirement he was employed for 23 years at A&J Off Road Trucking. His family and grandchildren gave him so much joy just being around him. Michael showed so much love for his grandchildren and in return they gave him so much happiness. Michael loved having lots of company come see him. Michael loved music. He was a guitar player and bass guitar player. He played in many bands, and attended many jams and house parties over the years.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Cindy (Awalt) Burke; sons, Jason (Mallory) Burke and Joshua (Heather) Burke; nine grandchildren; brothers, Lee and Brian; and many nieces and nephews.
Michael was predeceased by son, Jeremy Burke; sisters, Geraldine and Janet; brothers, Gordie, Roy and Eddie.
Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. on Friday, August 5 at his home, 272 Scott Road, Murchyville, Middle Musquodoboit. A funeral will be held on Saturday, August 6 at 11 a.m. in Saint Bernard’s Cemetery, Enfield. Everyone is welcome to attend both days.
The family would like to thank all of his doctors, continuing care nurses and palliative care nurses for their care and support of Michael. We would also like to thank everyone involved at Arimathea Funeral Cooperative. If you would like to bring sandwiches, sweets, snacks, etc. on Friday it would be greatly appreciated.
