Deanna Dawn Ashley-Horne

Ashley-Horne, Deanna Dawn – It is with heavy hearts and much sorrow, that we mourn the passing of Deanna Dawn Ashley-Horne at the age of 43 years old, who earned her Angel Wings on Tuesday January 25, 2022.

Deanna was born in 1978, in Halifax. She was loved by many, and whoever she met could never forget her. She would always leave an imprint in the lives of the people who knew her, and that in turn would leave her with a reminder of you.

Deanna loved her family and friends with her whole heart, and always wanted the people she cared about to be happy. One of her greatest qualities was that she was so funny, and had the unique ability to make you laugh and cry at the same time. Her motto was live life to the fullest, and it was a new adventure with her every day. Some of her favorite things to do were going to the beach, and just listening to the waves, or going with people on an adventure. She also liked to go for drives and turn up the tunes, and sing them out loud. Dee had a great passion for cooking too, taking after her Nannie Smith. You could always count on her for an honest opinion, and she was straightforward with people. She had such a big heart, and could light up a room with her presence.

Deanna will be lovingly remembered by her adoptive parents, Dorothy Smith and Kirk Ashley; siblings, Amanda Ashley, Melissa Ashley, and Devonna Slate; daughters, Nikkieta Sommer, Abby Marchand, Haley Ashley, and Emma Zeltner; along with her grandchildren, Gavin Marchand-MacDonald and Kora Marchand-MacDonald; as well her biological brothers, Joey Bernier and Glenn Zwicker; and of course, her sisters by heart that meant so much to her, Carol Ann Pottie, Tara Kaiser, and Tina Migel.

She was predeceased by her grandson, Hunter Joseph; biological father, Sonny Gastonton Heon; biological mother, Lillian Zwicker; grandparents from both adoptive and biological families; and other family members as well.

There are so many to list, but also left to mourn are many friends, and extended family such as aunts, uncles, cousins, her nieces and nephews, and anyone else's life in which she has touched as well. We will miss you greatly Dee, fly high with the Angels, until we meet again.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions we will be unable to have a service at this time, we will keep everyone updated as there is going to be one in the Spring, the date which TBD yet.
