Kent (MacPhee), Fern Izetta – Age 76. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother on December 19, 2022 in Colchester East Hants Heath Centre, Truro. Born in Upper Nine Mile River, Mum was a daughter of the late Phyllis (Wilson) and Herman MacPhee.
She was predeceased by the love of her life her husband, Allan Paul Kent in 1986.
She is survived by her daughter, Paula; son, Andrew (Glenda); granddaughters, Adeline and Delaney; brother, Elmer (Joan) MacPhee, all of Rawdon Gold Mines; brother-in-law, Rev. Glen (Glenda) Kent, Bedford; nephew, Michael MacPhee, Fort McMurray; nieces, Cynthia Brown, Belnan; Jennifer Kent-Walsh, Orlando, FL; and Heather Kent, Toronto. Mum was active in her church and community and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. She loved her family more than anything in this world and loved nothing more than spending time with them.
We would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Dr. George Burden for always caring for Mum, to Dr Lori Wood and her team at Medical Oncology in Halifax, and for care and compassion shown to Mum in her last days at the Palliative Care unit in Colchester East Hants Health Centre. We will be forever grateful.
Visitation will take place Thursday, December 22nd in Rawdon Gold Mines Community Hall from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 23rd at 2 p.m. in Rawdon Hill United Church, Upper Rawdon. Linton Worrell officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in Mum’s memory to Canadian Cancer Society, The Palliative Care Unit at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, or a charity of your choice.
