John "Jack" Daniel Aubrey Langille

Langille, John “Jack” Daniel Aubrey – Age 72, a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and loyal friend to many, passed away unexpectedly at home on November 4, 2022.

Jack was born in Springhill to his late parents, Florence Marie (Baillie) and Orman Garfield Langille.

Jack is survived by his wife of over 47 years, Melda (Huggan); his children, Lisa (Lee) Gaetz, Michael (Chastity) Langille; his grandchildren, Katie Gaetz and Maax Gaetz; his brother, Gary (Maureen) Langille; and many nieces, nephews and relatives and lifelong friends.

Jack grew up in Cole Harbour and spent his younger years with cousins and family at his grandparents’ farms in Welsford and Williamsdale, NS.  He raised his family in Head of Jeddore. He retired in 2010 after a long and fulfilling career as a Millwright for DND Dockyard in Halifax. Jack was a primary man on the syncrolift, made lifelong friendships and spoke of his time at DND often. He enjoyed retirement with his wife, his dogs and gardens. Jack spent many years volunteering for the Musquodoboit Trailways Association.  Battling some health issues in recent years, he still enjoyed his walks to the grocery store, the local seafood truck, and many visits to his wife at the Birches.

Many thanks to the friends who picked him up on his walks, the nurses who paid him visits, and to the MusGo drivers who always went above and beyond. Jack's smile was genuine, the kind that made his eye twinkle, his heart was huge, and his kind and soft demeanor was admirable. And his long black pony tail still had very few greys. He will be missed deeply by many.

Cremation has taken place.

A private funeral service will be held at a later date.
