Roland Hyde

With heavy hearts, we announce that on June 25, 2021, Roland Hyde of Truro, Nova Scotia passed away at home suddenly and peacefully.

Formerly of Cornwall, Prince Edward Island, he built up the business of Hyde Milling and Transport, and retired from ownership 45 years later.

He was a lifetime lover of music, and played bass violin for over 70 years.

He enjoyed the many trips and friends made during all his travels with his RV’s.

He was a quiet and generous man with a positive attitude who always appreciated family.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Verna; children, Reg (Judy), Marilyn (Derek), and Marlene; grandchildren, Rick (Kim), Gillian, Ambera, Jarrod, and Devon; great-grandchildren, Joey, Ryan, Ash, and Dresdon.

He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Gertrude Hyde; his brother, Melvin Hyde (Jean); and his sister, Mildred (Robert) Carr.

Cremation has taken place.  A graveside service will take place at West River Church in Cornwall, Prince Edward Island at a later date.
