Keyes (Gray), Mabel Eva – Age 86, of Lantz, passed away February 7, 2021 in Debert Court.
Mabel was the last surviving child of the late Thomas and Eva (Turpinant) Gray.
Her childhood was spent in Dartmouth, Stellarton and Grand Lake. As a young adult her life changed when her brother, Gordon invited a tall handsome young man home to see his pet fox. There she met the love of her life, Ron, aka “Tupper”, who invited her to a dance that same night and so started their life together. They settled in Lantz where they raised their three children. Mabel was a master knitter and baker. She made THE BEST doughnuts hands down. (Sorry Tim Horton’s). She was in her own words “a bingo bag by trade, not profession”.
She will be forever loved and missed by Debbie (Leo), Leon (Raymond), Tom; granddaughters, Sandi (Ashley), Holly Dolly, Sarah; great-granddaughters, Alaina and Carmyn.
She was predeceased by husband, Ron; five brothers and one sister.
The family would like to thank the staff of Debert Court for the care provided to “Mabes” over the past 10 years.
Cremation has taken place. It was Mabel’s strict wishes that there would be no service of any kind.
Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
