Gilby, Albro “Lee” – Age 67, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather on January 9, 2021. Born in Elmsdale, he was a son of the late Alan “Jake” and Avis (Sibley) Gilby.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy (MacNeil), Enfield; daughter, Michelle Turner; son, Trevor Gilby, both of Calgary; grandchildren, Michael and Andrew Turner, Calgary; siblings, Bruce (Ethel), Betty (Philip) MacKeil, Doreen Logan, Rod (Janie); numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister-in-law, Cheryl Gilby and brother-in-law, Eugene Logan.
Lee was a well respected carpenter who took great pride in his work. He worked for H. W. Corkum Construction for over 20 years. He enjoyed trips with his wife and family, gardening, rumoli with Rod and Janie, and a good game of hearts with the Isenor boys.
Thanks to Dr. Katelyn Barnes, Dr. Cortney Smith and Dawn Ross from Palliative Care, the VON and the staff at MVMH. Special thanks to Suzanne and Ritchie Gilby who were so supportive during this difficult ordeal. Thanks to family and friends who have been there to comfort us with drives, food and hugs.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
No service or visitation at Lee’s request. No celebration of life at this time due to COVID-19.
Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
