Thomas (Walker), Anne – Age 76 of Dartmouth, passed away September 4, 2020.

Anne is survived by Barry H. Thomas, her spouse of 54 years; children, Helen Zebedee (William), Simon Thomas (Karina); grandchildren, Vivian and Brock Thomas.

She was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Alice Walker.

Anne will be remembered as a friend, mentor and teacher. She taught high school math and science in Liverpool, England and area, before moving to Canada with Barry and Helen in 1969. Simon was born in Ottawa in 1970, and the family moved to Kars, Ontario where Anne and Barry lived until Barry’s retirement. They then moved to Nova Scotia, living first in Tangier and later in Dartmouth.

Anne was active with the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) since 1970, fulfilling many volunteer roles as well as the paid position of General Secretary/Treasurer for Canadian Yearly Meeting. She studied theology in Carleton University and her Quaker and ecumenical ministry had her teaching in Canada, United States, and England, and visiting the Vatican and the Middle East. Anne offered well-attended Bible study sessions into her last year.

As per her wishes, Anne’s remains have been cremated and no funeral service will be held. A memorial meeting will be held in the manner of Friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lifewater Canada or Friends United Meeting.

Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
