Retson, Edith Irene – Age 77, of Brookfield passed away peacefully on June 4, 2020 in Willow Lodge, Tatamagouche, with her daughter, Lesley by her side. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Jack and Irene Retson.
Edith enjoyed spending time at the cottage in Bayhead, gardening, going for walks and having large family gatherings. She loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren were the light of her life. Her working career began with Allied Youth under the Nova Scotia Department of Education, from there she went on to be the first person hired at the Lafarge Canada Inc. in Brookfield where she worked for many years in the office. In her retirement, her love of gardening took her to Searle’s Greenhouses where she spent many happy days.
She will always be loved and missed by daughters, Kelly Hazelton, Bowmanville, Ontario; Lesley (Glenn) Graham, Upper Stewiacke; grandchildren, Jesse, Kaly, Jack; siblings, Beth Brogan; Kenny (Kaye); Gene (Marion); Helen Retson; and several loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her soulmate and loving husband, Bryan Watson; sister, Vera; brothers-in-law, Harold Brogan; Donald Henderson.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations in Mom’s memory may be made to Willow Lodge Palliative Care Room.
