Jenkins, Donald Garth – Age 80 of Yarmouth. It is with deep sorrow that we announce Donald’s peaceful passing on March 21, 2020 in Dartmouth General Hospital.
Born in Yarmouth, he was a son of the late Frank and Ruby (Smith) Jenkins. Donald was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #61 in Yarmouth, and a member of Grand Lodge of Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons of Nova Scotia. He loved his family, hunting, woodworking, fly-tying, dogs, books and coin collecting. He was a man of strong-will, mind and heart, we will miss him.
Surviving are special friend, Florence Deveau, Yarmouth; son, David Jenkins, Musquodoboit Harbour; daughters, Dawn Jenkins (Chris Richard), Grand Desert; Kelly Rose, Dartmouth; step-sons, John Dickie, Dartmouth; Scott Dickie (Amanda Misner), Shubenacadie; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Edgar, Calgary; Robert (Goldie) and David, both of Yarmouth.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Margaret Jenkins, Harriet Eisan; brother-in-law, Floyd Eisan; sister-in-law, Sadie Jenkins.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit. A funeral service will be held in Yarmouth which will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Diabetes Canada. The family would like to say thank you to the nurses on 3 West at Dartmouth General for taking such great care of Dad during his stay. We are forever grateful for the compassion shown to us.
